🔹 About Us
Keeping Macs Alive — One Patch at a Time
Welcome to a place where old Macs don’t become forgotten — they become functional again. Our mission began with a single goal: to give unsupported Intel-based Macs a second life. What grew from that mission is now known around the world as OpenCore Legacy Patcher (OCLP) — a powerful, safe, and user-friendly tool that helps users install newer versions of macOS on devices Apple no longer supports.
We built OCLP for people who believe their Mac still has more to give — and we’ve proven it does.
Why We Exist
In today’s fast-moving tech world, even well-working machines are quickly labeled “obsolete.” Each year, countless Macs are sent to landfills or recycled simply because they can’t run the latest macOS — not because their hardware is broken, but because of policy.
We saw this problem and asked: What if there’s a way to safely bypass those limits?
OpenCore Legacy Patcher was our answer. Instead of forcing users to buy a new device, we created a solution that allows older Macs to run the latest Apple software — with full control, without modifying firmware, and in a way that’s completely reversible.
About Our Journey
What started as a technical workaround among a few developers became something much bigger. Over time, we refined our methods, simplified the process, and launched a project that thousands of people now rely on. We didn’t just build a tool — we built a community.
The software is open-source and always will be. Everything we do is backed by real-world testing, community contributions, and a belief in transparency. Every patch, every update, every improvement comes from real users facing real limitations — and finding solutions together.
What We Stand For
We’re more than a patching tool — we represent a philosophy.
Technology should be sustainable: Just because something is old doesn’t mean it’s useless.
Users deserve freedom: You should have the right to decide how long you use your devices.
Knowledge should be shared: That’s why our tool is open-source and well-documented.
Community is everything: We wouldn’t be here without the support, feedback, and collaboration of people all over the world.
Our work is fueled by these values — not profit.
Who We Are
We’re a small, dedicated group of independent developers and contributors from across the globe. Some of us are engineers, others are educators, students, or longtime Apple users. What we share is a deep love for the Mac ecosystem — and a strong desire to make it more inclusive, flexible, and sustainable.
Together, we’ve built something we’re proud of — and it’s only getting better.
About Our Impact
Since launching OpenCore Legacy Patcher, we’ve helped countless users:
Upgrade old Macs to run macOS Ventura, Sonoma, and beyond
Extend the usable life of their computers by years
Avoid unnecessary spending on new hardware
Reduce environmental waste by keeping devices out of landfills
Every successful patch tells a story — of savings, sustainability, and digital empowerment.
